Werrd. I’ve had this happen to me personally. During RPs I use black characters and I’ve had them just either ignore it or ignore me. It fucking sucks.

or RPs you follow never talk to the black characters or they never can keep a black character for long.

I´m not a WoC, but I´ve rped a few black characters (a few- because there HARDLY are ANY). One was a really good roleplay, only 10 characters, Kat Graham being one of the fcs.

I was honestly shocked how little attention I got, I had to start all the conversations, noone shipped themseves with my character, even though she was BADASS, nothing.

Bulletin Board Art Contest + Changes to TrollCrossing?!

Hello Can Town-ites! Can Town-ians…? Can Town Citizens! I’m your currently lone-TrollCrossing-Admin, Caelan, and I’m going to be bringing you some news! Brace yourselves, it’s a long message!

As the title says, there shall be an Art Contest (okay not so much a contest as a competition) concerning things for the Bulletin Board Blog. However, I would like to cover a couple of things before we get onto this! First of all, let me explain some changes that will be happening to TrollCrossing (don’t worry, they’re aren’t big and scary!) as well as what the Bulletin Board Blog will be used for!

First of all, the changes (dun, Dun, DUN! Okay, not really.)! The TrollCrossing AU will not be experiencing any changes that concern your RP as of right now. If anything like that does seem to come across, I will make a post to warn you about it! Mainly the changes will consist of Blog Changes. This will mean the following:

• Blog Pages will be moved around, as well as some being removed and moved to the Bulletin Board location.
• Blog Theme may change.
• Navigation may change.

Secondly, what will be on the two different Blogs? What will be the differences? Well, here’s a chart to show you!

As you can see, not much will change! Only thing changing is the face that we will have an Out Of Character Home Blog (one to direct New Comers to) and an In Character Blog! Shall I move onto the…

Okay, well, again. It’s more of an Art Competition than an Art Contest. There won’t be any prizes (I’m sorry) for if your art is selected for the new blog other than just that! This was an idea for something to include the other Citizens, as well as others outside of the AU! It’s… Also a way to get me out of doing some work. Not going to lie.

So, there’s going to be a few categories that you can participate in. Oh, and don’t worry! You can enter all of the categories as many times as you want!

First of all, Judging will go like this:

• TrollCrossing Admin Caelan will pick three of her favorites from each category.
• You will then get to vote on your favorite in each category!
• If yours gets into the top three of any category, you can not choose yours.
• How to vote will be explained later during the voting period.
• Whichever gets the most vote in each category will be used on the Bulletin Board blog.

Now, we have the Judging explained… but what is needed to be done? Here is a list of the categories that can be entered:

• Bulletin Board Blog Icon
• Bulletin Board Sidebar Logo
• *Bulletin Board Header Logo?!
• *Bulletin Board Separators?!
• *NPC Head-shot Art?!
• *NPC Full Body Art?!

*Shows un-judged by Citizens Material. Will be picked by Caelan for use. Also means it can be done later!

Lastly, the rules and other-information for this “Contest”.

• You don’t have to be a TrollCrossing Roleplayer
• Submit to every category as many times as you want.
• Competition ends December 1st! This gives you plenty of time to enter!
• To submit your entries, send Links to the images (hosted on any imagehosting site you choose) to the Home Blog (trollcrossingstuck@tumblr) through the SUBMIT/JOIN box.

Since I have finished making the logo, it might be best to make a post that can go around and be reblogged to grab the attention of other people.

First of all, what is TrollCrossing? TrollCrossing is an Animal Crossing based Roleplay AU. Trolls move into Can Town, located on Not-Alternia, and are given a house to live in. However, just like in the games, you have to pay the house off. To get you started, you get a Part-Time job at The Crabshack. Mainly to learn the ropes and meet a couple of other Trolls. After finishing Errands, you are free to earn money however you want and interact with whoever you want.

That’s where the Roleplay happens, so no asking How’s Roleplaying Involved? The roleplaying comes from your interaction with other Citzens of Can Town. Again, like the Social Community Simulation game, there is no plot except for what you make it out to be. Your plot depends on who you interact with and what Drama ends up being stirred up.

Before asking who are the characters? the answer is this:

• Beta Trolls
• Alpha Trolls
• AND Fantrolls

Yeah, we aren’t just limited to the Canon. This AU includes Fantrolls! If any of the Canon Trolls you want are taken, or if all of the Canon Trolls are taken, you are still welcomed to create a Fantroll to join this AU.

Now, how about a couple of things about this AU (click on links to read more):

• This AU does not take place on Alternia.
• The town is just named Can Town. There aren’t any Can-Houses. Who knows why the town was named that.
• Quirks can still apply, but you aren’t limited to always using them while the character is speaking since they’re not technically typing.
• Quadrants still apply. These are trolls, after all.
• There are Only Trolls in Can Town. No other characters.
• This AU also has a Map.
• Even has a Getting Started guide to help you after becoming a Citizen.

As of today (being the Aug 31st, 2012) 22/24 Canon Slots are open. So, if you are interested in any way, or just want to follow the blog to see the Art, News, and other shenanigans of the roleplay community you can Head to the Official Blog.

With the creation out of the way, TrollCrossing is now an Open Roleplay AU. If you have been following with interest, or just came to the page now, feel free to create an application for either a Canon Troll or a Fantroll.

Currently, all Canon Troll spots (except for Karkat and Aradia) are available.

Being a fairy, Damian is naturally rude and arrogant. He has no censor when it comes to his words, so most everything he says is offensive. Feelings are never spared, and he often gets whatever he wants. It isn’t handed to him(although he wishes it was), because he pays attention to every detail in order to ensure it all falls into place. Many would classify this as OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. 

From a young age, Damian had always struggled with his personal identity. This created tension with his family, causing them to ship him away to the academy. They hoped he would ‘Straighten out,’  but there was no such luck. He dropped all contact, and dedicated most of his time to himself. He’s self-centered, and not a school favorite. He does not mind it, either. Although, he does consider to himself to be rather ‘popular.’ Being an extrovert doesn’t help, either. His thoughts seem to flow better when he’s speaking, so he never really stops.

Sophie is your stereotypical snob. She comes from a rich and prominent family. Having no special abilities themselves, her parents had no idea what was going on with her. She was able to read and influence thoughts from a very young age. So to hide her from the outside world and to preserve their family name, they sent her away. Adjusting to life roaming the outskirts of England, Sophie learned to depend on no one other than herself. 

She stumbled upon the academy at the age of sixteen, discovering how to harness and control her mind. She bonded with other psychics around campus and established herself an entourage. Sophie has a superiority complex because of her family and enforces her “Rank” as often as she possibly can. She dislikes the challenges but still attempts to gain points with the Headmistress by acting a model student. She has more enemies than friends, but that won’t stop her from getting her way and sliding into your business.
